113 Days

I’ve put the number plate back on the car now after 113 days without it. Catty had convinced me to stop being an arse and just put it on. Had I been stopped today the experiment would have cost me 26½ pence per day. Lucky escape I think you’ll agree. Now to fix the headlight…

Does anyone know where I can get imported GM parts without having to sell a kidney to afford them? Any companies I try to use myself to import them are crap, i.e they don’t bother sending anything telling me it’s out of stock, instead of just saying, “Oh, you are foreign, well then the delivery charge will be more.” To which I’d say, “That’s no problem, I was expecting it to be more than $9 anyhow”

Bloody yanks.

btk :???:

Don’t mention it…

Right then now that all the election hoo haa is over we can resume normal service. Here’s one thing that was missed, Catty’s works night oot. Great again this year even if I did get a kilt for the occasion. ( I posted a different pic of me in the kilt over on TT and was told by one friend, “Last time I saw legs like that they were hanging out a nest!” - Cheeky bugger.

Suits you sir…

Entertainment was in the form of Fred McCauley(7:30PM - “I will get my photo with him before the night is oot….” 11PM - “where the fook is he??”) and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers who I seem to remember being on some talent show with the human slinky, an act that blew my mind! He unfortunately wasn’t there.

Anyhow, by the end of the night I had embarrassed Catty enough I think, I vaguely remember some of it(free bar for a while) like the bit where I forgot line dancing isn’t actually cool to the rest of the world and spun round forgetting I was wearing a kilt. The folks at the table got an eyeful I’m sure…

Next year I’ll be off the sauce and more restrained…

It was a good night but, don’t mention it…

PS Fred, If you want to send me a signed photo since I missed you it’d be much appreciated!

PPS, quote of the night goes to Fred McCauley…

Ally(McCoist) just went through a very messy and public divorce and nobody deserves that…

…even if they are shaggin Patsy Kensit!

Electo-riffic

well that was a bit gid eh! Guy I went to school with won one of the safest Lib-Dem seats(Roxburgh and Berwickshire) for the tories. Alex Salmond won Gordon (OK he was probably always going to, I mean who in their right mind would turn down the opportunity to have the possible first minister as your own MSP?).

The SNP won my own constituency of Abz North too. The ever annoying Nicola Sturgeon won Govan, which is great for the party, first Glaswegian SNP seat ever.

Annabel Goldie presented herself fantastically well through the evening/morning despite being unable to claim her own constituency in Renfrewshire.

I’m saddened that North Ayrshire can’t get over their Labour fixation, talk to anyone and they do nothing but complain about them, I think they all believe that a vote for anyone else is a wasted vote, they should have done what fitaloon did when he…

surprised myself by adding an extra vote on my council election slip by giving a 3 to the SNP candidate, it might just help ensure that Labour and the Lib Dems don’t get in.

Still, there’s no telling some folk. Highlight of the evening for myself…

I’m torn between the Arran boat breaking down with Cunninghame North’s papers on it and that Alex Salmond victory. I’m somehow squeezed in between him and Nicol Stephen in my constituency for power sharing, a fact I am sure should be of benefit to the region. I am actually in the Gordon constituency for Westminster elections as well, which sucks.

I suppose I should mention the farce that is the new voting electronics and possible fuck ups of the electorate. I almost spoilt my own council paper by putting an x instead of the 12345… only saving myself at the last second by rtfm-ing the paper. It was stupid imo to run both elections together while at the same time introducing the voters to a new, parallel system of voting. Maybe next time we’ll get it right. I’m sure this will have a negative effect on peoples perception of voting and the usefullness of voting. There will be people out there who know after all the hoo-haa that they unintentionally spoilt their ballot papers and will be put off by this. I hope it doesn’t show in the next turnout.

In the hard fought contest of the-kid.org the second vote went to the SNP with 4 votes(the 5th was me trying to turn the poll off!) over the Lib-Dems and Tories both having 3.

Now the wait for the list result…
