Move on then ffs!!

I was listening to the radio yesterday in the car and Cllr Willie Young came on in an interview regarding the current 27/50 million pound cuts (I mean savings - haha) in the council’s budget. He again called for Council leader Kate Dean’s resignation. Fair enough, those in control need to take responsibility but he, I feel, negated his statement with his qualification, not word for word, but along the lines of… “We are trying to move on but until she goes that’s impossible.”

Well, how exactly are you trying to move on? Do we have a plan from Labour on what to do? Were Labour even there when the accounts commission gave their verdict and suggestions? How exactly is Kate Dean staying in control stopping you from ‘moving on’?

It’s the lack of movement on the part of the Labour party that’s stopping the council from ‘moving on’. The finance secretary John Swinney was in town this week telling the council to shut it, get together, work together and fix the bloody mess. It’s a pity John Swinney isn’t a Labour politician as it seems that the Labour party, at least in Aberdeen, give other parties views and suggestions no weight at all. The SNP have been consistently trying to make things better, albeit through tough decisions.

If anything the SNP should be the ones floundering in this, they overspent by shedloads themselves, as well as the inherited years of overspend which, although the SNP tried to point it out, got swept to the side and ignored on the most part. Instead it’s the Labour party who are coming from this badly with a reputation for finger pointing, inaction and ignorance(of others). They should be saying “We told you not to vote for the SNP, but you did, however here’s how we can make it better until the next election…” NOT “They did it, it wasn’t us, oh you voted them in, it’s their mess let them deal with it, don’t cut this, don’t cut that, oh, no we don’t have an alternative…” etc.

Labour, it’s been said before in this blog, you are turning off the voters, you should be on the rise here with what is a clear opportunity to grab votes by ACTION. I fear however that the SNP are riding artificially high at a time when they should be in decline due to your bitching. Cut it out!

Pot Noodle

I had a pot noodle the other day and was surprised to find it didn’t taste right. I added salt and it was ok again, hmmmm thought I, they must have reduced their salt. Then I saw an advert on telly saying as much. Then I saw the lids on the pot noodles here saying the same.

What the hell are you doing Pot Noodle???

Key points here…

  • They’ve taken out ingredients
  • They’ve saved money
  • They’ve not passed this saving on to us
  • They’re giving us less for our money
  • They now taste shitty
  • We need to use our own salt to make them taste like they used to
  • This costs us more money in salt expenses
  • Adding salt by yourself is unregulated so I probably affect my health in a more adverse manner than when they did it for me
  • They are PROMOTING this!

Sort it out pot noodle, I’m quickly losing the horn…

Holidays

Great, I’m on holiday as from today, not back until Tuesday week. Only cost 4 days too since there are 3 public holidays (today, monday and monday week) included in it.

I have my medical in Glasgow next Friday for the LGV license so will probably head down to Ayrshire for a few days to catch up with the family and do that. I also have a house to sell in Kilwinning since it’s holding us back from moving on up here. Trouble is my sister is living in it.

She has had a long time to get round to buying it from me though and I feel I have been more than fair in letting it drag on for so long. If she still wants it she can put in an offer. It’s not right that she gets to live in a big house with her one kid for nothing when my own three kids need to share a bedroom in this tiny rented cottage. Time to move on up here and, well, we all know what prices in these parts are like. So I need to sell the house in Kilwinkie and use the proceeds to pay off my mum(who has been paying the mortgage on the house down the road as far as I know. I don’t want her to be out of pocket after all because she gains nothing from these payments, just my sister gets to live in my house!) and have a deposit for a house up here. Least that’s the plan. :???:

My sister wont be thrown out on the streets either, she could walk straight into North Ayrshire council’s offices and be in accomodation that day. It’s not like she hasn’t lived in a council house before. I think it more likely that she will throw her toys out the pram and spit and hiss until someone closer to home takes her in.

Ah bollocks to it, time to make some easter activities with the kids…

Big Brother is watching you…

It would seem after some enquiries that there is some footage of the Haudagain bump. My insurance reckons if it’s good enough it will prove beyond any doubt that Bazza is a liar!

Great result for my insurance company and also negating any chance of libelling the guy (unless of course he accepts full responsibility before the insurance get the film, then it’s unproven. I, bizarrely, hope he does stick by his story…)

I can officially call him a liar in as many publications as I like. I urge y’all to do likewise!

The best thing is that even if I were to be found at fault it would affect me none as I protected my no claims etc. Did he???…

Claiming Charges

I’m currently writing a quick guide on reclaiming your bank charges, so watch this space…

Reclaiming Bank Charges-again!

I’ve been on Martin Lewis’s Money Saving Expert site recently quite a lot. One thing is disturbing me. The amount of people who are accepting partial payments from their banks!

Whats up with that? If they are partially paying out they will pay out in full. People are losing thousands of pounds by not seeing it through/chickening out early.

Relax people, you will get your money back, your bank WILL NOT see you in court. You are losing loads of money by accepting these near offers.

For anyone who hasn’t claimed yet(in Scotland) heres how….

It couldn’t be simpler. Get your cash back now - and DO NOT accept partial offers, after all, would the bank accept only partial payment of their charges? I think not.

Buzzzzzzzzzzz

We’ve been doing our Christmas shopping recently and found that we need loads of batteries for all the kids toys. Catty bought them yesterday….

Today I stupidly told my work’mates’ at lunch: “Aye, she spent forty quid on batteries yesterday”.

…I knew it as soon as I heard myself say it.
