I’ve come to a decision today. If I find Google Adwords or PayPerPost or any “we’ll pay you for putting our links on your blog” on YOUR blog, I’m blacklisting it. “part of the BlogHer network” = not part of my internet(yes it’s mine!)
You’re selling out.
I’m annoyed because some of the best blogs I read are awash with these(I particularly hate Adwords as part of a post template.)
Now I have adverts in my sidebar, you’ll have noticed, they’re identified as such, but none of these pay me to put them there. They are all sites I personally use and endorse, there may or may not be a requirement to show these links as part of the service. I’d show them anyway(the statcounter one for example). I do not have, and never will have paid advertising.
Sorry if you are losing a reader through this. I’ll keep a list of the blacklisted blogs on another page.

Update 1. re: another site of mine.
I’ve finally gotten round to begin updating my scripts site, which I’ve been neglecting for way too long. Today I’ve threw on an updated WP, Download counters, brand new theme(which rocks so much it might well be finding it’s way here soon, let’s face it, y’all are bored with the orangesky now aren’t ya!(don’t forget you can change that with the theme switcher–>))
Now that brings my ‘blog’ total to 10 I think, if you count the micro-blogs(twitter/jaiku/multiply etc).

The traffic(or lack of) has been back to normal today, I wonder if they’ve taken the house off the market. Though it doesn’t say it’s off the market. I wonder who’ll move in…
Update 3. re: Aberdeen Freecycle.
Aberdeen Freecycle totally rocks! I bagged a colour laser printer yesterday. Normally I’m last in the queue for those things as I get the daily digest not the individual emails. Score!

I doubt anyone noticed but the-kid.org was offline for a few days there. I’ve changed hosts to GoDaddy.com so everything should be uber-stable now. I had been hosting with a friend of mine who has a reseller account for nothing, but I guess you get what you pay for! lol I really appreciate the hosting though Aaron so cheers. :cool:

Thank god for that!
I think all pages are valid now. What a nightmare that is to get to work though. In wordpress your css isn’t in one sheet its a combination of several, but validating at w3c just gives you line numbers from the page. You then have to trawl through your stylesheets/template to find the problems. To be fair though most problems were with the sidebar, which has most hackage done by me.
It’s a pity that this theme doesn’t work properly in internet explorer(sidebar slides down) and even when it does it breaks the <ul> and <li> effects (and in doing so becomes non-compliant!)
If anyone wants to check out the code for me feel free! Oh and if anyone spots a page (ignoring the webcam stream) that’s not compliant please leave me the link in a comment. Cheers

I can’t log in to the stv forums, never have been able to. Logging in just returns me to the login page! I can’t msg admin about it because I’m not logged in!!!!!!!
Doesn’t matter if i use FF or IE6. I haven’t tried a linux distro yet but I’m sure that wont matter either. I’ve also specifically added various stv.tv addresses to my cookies ALLOW list.
Sort it out stv, I can’t be the only one. There are loads of new signups with 0 posts to their name.

I’ve been messing around with the theme switcher hopefully I’ve got all the bugs out of it (i.e default and classic themes being unable to switch!) I’m still undecided on which theme I like best. I’m fairly sure it’s not Seven though because it only shows one post on the main. I like the Simpsons one and Flush too actually. In fact I might do a random theme thing so it’ll just pick whatever one, or would that suck?
