You have succinctly captured all relevant points accurately in my opinion. Totally justifying the situation the active altruistic citizens have. I truly hope Aberdeen can show through the final decision that it is the ACE citizens who with passion can win through and not the financially driven individuals. Aberdeen is an ACE city with ACE citizens who through community development...........bottom up approach can effect the change they want as it is needed in the city. My understanding is that all this should have been channelled through the Community Planning structure and process. I cannot understand why this has not been raised with Mr Salmond.........I thought his party promoted CP as the right way to engage with all parties with an interest in a city's change. Why has CP not had involvement in this issue? Could it be because at the outset ACSEF a CP partner ignored the structure and ignored the standards fr community engagement CP is signed up for.

Very powerful statement Mr Kid.. At the BBC debate last week the only people bullying were supporters of the CGP.. ACSEF are bullying us in the press knowing that we do not have the money to compete against their advertising campaign.. This is with the backing of a 'democratically' elected local authority. The whole process has been corrupt and wrong..

Well written piece. There is much wrong with how this has been played out. Not least the partial nature of ACC. Where they could have provided balanced guidance they got behind the CGP from the get go. Significant resources have gone to encourage and promote the destruction of UTG. If in doubt check out those committee reports, the "free" time given by officials who desired the project to succeed (that feels wrong) the expansion of TIF to include the Art Gallery extension (that feels wrong).

it is indeed wrong. i agree with everything in this post. What is going on with the so called great and good of Aberdeen is shocking. I feel disenfranchised, disrespected and fearful of how things must operate if this situation is in any way a microcosm of how Aberdeen City Council, the local press and local businessmen operate.

The way Peacock were treated was horrific and it's been the tip of the whole nasty iceberg.

Good on you for writing this BTK! Hope it gets shared all over the place.

This is a very powerful and inciteful piece. Why do I think of the film It's a Wonderful Life when I think of ACSEF and its very aggressive promotion of this scheme?

I hear there have been posters appearing all throughout Aberdeen to vote for the granite web - even in doctor's waiting rooms. This is by people who can afford to swamp the city with their propaganda. Perhaps like in an election there should have had an upper limit of the amount which could be spent on either side. It's clear that those who measure funds in millions are way ahead here.

Why am I uncomfortable that the referendum is being run through ACC?

In my own opinion in these case, You don't need to prove something to other people in order to accept them. The important is that with in your self you are capable enough.

hehe, thanks! Yeah I actually did the Luigi costume too a couple of days later, for my eldest daughter but she didn't make these pics as she's at high school now so didn't have a party that night.

When my other half comes back from being offshore I'll grab a photo from her phone and stick it up... ;oD
